Maggi campaign raises funds for Hope Place

KUCHING: The ‘MAGGI Jom Masak, Menang & Kongsi Bersama 2023’ campaign has raised RM15,632.70 for Hope Place Sarawak to support communities in need.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng lauded MAGGI’s initiative to preserve local culinary heritage while serving the local community in need.

“Campaigns like these from MAGGI are instrumental in preserving our culinary heritage by keeping interest towards local cuisine recipes alive while encouraging innovation in the kitchen.

“This concept not only celebrates indigenous harvest festivals such as Gawai Dayak, it also gives back to the community and by collaborating with non-governmental organisations,” he said at the Grand Finale of the MAGGI Jom Masak, Menang & Kongsi Bersama 2023 campaign at Vivacity Megamall here Saturday (August 5).

MAGGI Nestle Malaysia Berhad Business Executive Officer Ivy Tan expressed appreciation for the Sarawak’s support towards the brand over the years.

“To serve our Sarawak consumers, we even established a factory here 30 years ago, and we remain committed to serve our consumers with our MAGGI offerings,” she said.

The campaign, held in conjunction with Gawai Dayak and Tadau Kaamatan celebration has collected a total of RM30,496 to aid the underprivileged communities in Sabah and Sarawak through two charity bodies, namely the Malaysian Red Crescent Society Sabah and Hope Place Sarawak.

The contest’s victor, Michelle Wong Li Wen, a 26 year-old administration clerk from Sibu drove away with a brand new Proton X70 SUV worth RM99,000.

The first, second and third runners-up were Fong Mei Yun, 27, Norashikin Daud, 52, and Law Hie Hie, 34, respectively, with each receiving Philips TVs worth RM2,000.

Also present at the finale were Nestle General Sales and Operations Manager Sarawak Lee Tsuen Fu; Harrison Sarawak Area Business Manager Lo Chow Nyian; Everrise Executive Director Jeffrey Sia Tze Yong; and Hope Place (Kuching) Operations Manager Yong Tiong Yieng.
