GEORGE TOWN: It is still too early for Sarawak United FC to be satisfied with the 3-1 result of their match against Penang FC yesterday in the Malaysia Cup 2021 at the Penang City Stadium, said Sarawak head coach E Elavarasan.

He said his team still had five matches to test the ability of his men in the prestigious tournament.

“A lot we don’t know yet… When playing against a team from the Super League, (the game) is at a different level. Whether they (players) will be consistent or not, we do not know yet,” he told the post-match press conference.

Nevertheless, he said the three points obtained was a good start and could give an advantage in the competition.

Meanwhile, Penang head coach Tomas Trucha said his team should change the pattern of play in preparation to face Kuala Lumpur City FC on Wednesday.

“The team must strengthen the defence and wings so that we can bring home victory in the next match,” he said when commenting on Penang’s weaknesses at the press conference.

He also reminded his men that the good run they had in the Super League 2021 will make Penang a team of focus and an enemy to be defeated.

Drawn in Group A, Penang FC will face Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (Sept 29) and Sri Pahang FC on Oct 30. – Bernama
