MIRI: A local man from Pujut Tanjong Batu here was detained by the police after he allegedly beat his younger sister during a commotion this morning.
The 30 year-old suspect allegedly hit sister multiple times on her head after telling him that lots of ants had gotten into his food that she prepared for his meal in the morning.
The incident was reported to have occurred around 8.30am today.
A report has been lodged by the victim’s elder sister.
Acting on the report lodged, a team of police from the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained the suspect in less than one hour after the occurrence of the alleged incident.
Currently the victim is receiving medical treatment at Miri Hospital.
Police are investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
