MIRI: City mayor Adam Yii has expressed appreciation to the Police Department, in particular, its personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) here for conducting an operations codenamed ‘Ops Cantas’ recently during which seven members of the so called ‘Geng Dolphin Boy’ were rounded up.
The gang members had repeatedly been involved in quarrels and disturbances at entertainment outlets in Miri city.
Yii noted that the gang members had used sharp objects and heavy wooden clubs in their attacks.
The city mayor said the Ops Cantas was a timely reminder to trouble makers that the police were ever ready to protect and safeguard the public from people out to create public disorder.
