PADAWAN: A labourer was killed after his motorcycle crashed along Mile 21, Jalan Kuching-Serian today.
The fatal incident happened around 7am when the victim identified as Amelthan Simon, 21, was heading towards Kuching from Serian.
Sarawak traffic police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim’s motorcycle apparently went out of control before crashing into the road divider.
“As a result, the victim was thrown onto the middle of the road.
“Paramedics from Serian Hospital arrived at the scene shortly and confirmed that the victim died at the scene,” he said, adding that the body was sent to the hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
