KUCHING: Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is hopeful the Borneo Music Festival (BMF) can be held again in Sarawak in the coming years.

“The atmosphere at the two-day event impressed me and I was there on the second night when DJ Alan Walker performed.

“This is the first time we organised it (BMF) and I do not mind having it organised again next year.

“So, if there is any demand, we can consider it for the coming years,” he told a press conference after officiating at the Sports Conference for All Borneo Zones 2022 held at Raia Hotel and Convention Centre, today.

The recently concluded BMF attracted more than 14,000 visitors to the event.

On music festivals, Abdul Karim said a lot of music-related events are being organised in the state which caters to every age group.

“Previously in June, we had the Rainforest World Music Festival and Borneo Jazz Music Festival which caters to jazz lovers. A country music festival is also going to be held in December in Miri which caters to country music lovers.
