KUCHING: A vibrant display of ethnic diversity unfolded today at the Kuching Waterfront as participants donned their traditional costumes and took part in the Unity Fun Run and Ride.

With a total of 1,500 runners and riders taking part, the event embodied the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity’. The Ministry of National Unity organised the fun run, which featured two categories: a 6KM run and a 20KM bicycle ride.

Its minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang inaugurated the run and ride and presented medals to the finishers.

We have a series of programs planned for the celebration, including an ethnic homes exhibition, ‘rahmah’ sales, battle of the bands, beauty contests, cultural performances, and exhibitions by various state agencies,” said Aaron to reporters after officiating at the event.

He also announced a special collaboration with renowned musician Datuk DJ Dave, who has produced a song titled ‘Setia Perpaduan’ specifically for the celebration.

“I encourage people from Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah to join us for this momentous celebration,” he added.
