Ministry conducts LPG checks in Mukah

MUKAH: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Mukah office conducted checks on subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks in shops here on Tuesday (Sept 8).

The weight check was done together with the ministry’s appointed company, Metrology Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd , Sibu office.

Mukah chief Salihin Den said the checks were done to prevent consumers from being short-changed, with the actual weight being 14kg.

“This is also to avoid any decanting activity in the production and distribution of subsidised LPG,” he said during a check at one of the business premises.

He said a similar check was conducted last Wednesday (Sept 2), and five notices were issued.

No tampering was found and all LPG weight and volume were as stated.

Salihin was accompanied by staff Rozli Likom, Betram Bill and Mathew Layong during both checks.
