MIRI:  Nearly 2,000 local and foreign participants yesterday converged at Coco Cabana Miri for the 8th edition of Miri International Bike Week 2019.

The foreign participants came from Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin launched the two-day event yesterday.

In his speech, Lee proposed that the organiser, ‘Kelab Motorsikal Jaguh Miri’ (KMJM) create a website on the event to attract more participants in the future.

Various types of modified motorcycles and big bikes are on display during the event which ends today.

Participants enhancing unity and making friends.

Thirty-two vendors are also selling motorcycle accessories.

Iskandar Lamat, the event organiser, said they hoped to   attract 30,000 people.

“I am optimistic that we can pull in a bigger crowd this time around because we have a bigger space compared to previous year,” he said.
