MIRI: Miri FA (Group Q3) and Sibu FA (Group Q2) were among the teams who have confirmed their berths in the play-off round of the People’s Football League (LBR) 2017-2018. Miri earlier filled the slot after defeating Mukah 3-1 in a match held at Miri Stadium on last weekend. With the win, Miri topped the group with 12 points. Sibu confirmed the spot after overcoming Sri Aman 2-1 at Sibu Stadium. They topped the group with seven points from two wins and one draw.
Meanwhile, another slot will be between two teams, namely Gedong Gators (Kuching) and Serian FA in Group Q1. Both teams have the opportunity to qualify for the play-off round. On paper, Gedong Gator s (Kuching FA) have the advantage of being on the top with eight points. However, the Serian FA can bypass them if they can win at least 4-0 in the match on Saturday (2 December). What is certain, the opportunity looks on favours of the Gedong Gators.
