LAWAS: The Sarawak government remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing a young generation that is intelligent, dynamic, and passionate.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said more recreational sports facilities will be built in the constituency in the future.

He stated that the state government aims to cultivate the youth’s character, free from negative influences, and provide them with education to become catalysts for the aspiration of state development.

“Despite being at the tip of Sarawak, the Limbang and Lawas areas have produced many athletes who have brought honour to the state and the country on the international stage.

“I will ensure the enhancement of sports performance in this area. I will also provide more recreational sports facilities at the village level, including the Lawas Swimming Sports Complex, which has been built to Olympic standards.”

Awang Tengah said this during the opening ceremony of the BLX Lawas Indoor Football Tournament, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan Cup, recently.
