PUSA: A mute couple on Monday (June 14) received their first dose of CoronaVac vaccine at the Kampung Kalok Community Hall here.

Based on the author’s observation, medical officers in the hall communicated with Mohd Jemmeri Mohd Bakir, 34 and his wife Sa’ebah Masuni, 44, as best as they could by using sign language.

When asked about his vaccination process (in sign language), Mohd Jemmeri gave a thumbs-up, indicating that it went well.

Also accompanying the couple were Mohd Jemmeri’s parents, Mohd Bakir Egu, 68 and Dayang Sa’at, 69, who also received their first dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Kampung Kalok Community Hall vaccination centre head Dr Nur Izzaty Abd Rahim, when met, advised all vaccine recipients to always check the MySejahtera application on their mobile phones for their appointments.

Commenting on the vaccination process on its first day of operation, she said it went smoothly.

“Thank you to all the staff for doing a good job as well as the vaccine recipients who have followed all instructions well,” she said.
