KUCHING: It is time for the government to put in place strategic measures that will foster a favourable investment climate, enhance employment opportunities, address living costs, assure food security and improve social facilities and services.

The Association of Churches Sarawak (ACS) secretary-general Ambrose Linang, in a press statement today, said mutual understanding and healthy relationships between ethnicities are decisive factors in ensuring the state and country’s peace and harmony.

“Christmas is a time of healing for our country in the aftermath of the recent general election.

“Now is the time to fulfil the hopes and confidence of the people,” he remarked.

He went on to say that the Christmas season is a time to put a halt to any party’s actions, whether via speech or action, that poison the minds and rouse people’s emotions by exploiting ethnic and religious differences.

“Mutual understanding and harmonious ethnic relationships are important factors in ensuring the peace and harmony of our state and country,” he said.
