KUCHING: The multiracial society of Sarawak will experience a new blend of culture through the new Hornbill Dance.

The Hornbill Dance, which was launched on January 14 last year for the festive season, was choreographed by Nanyang Wushu Federation chairman Professor Dr Song Swee Hee.

“The dance not only showcases the hornbill as the icon of Sarawak but also serves as a platform to enhance goodwill, harmony, and unity,” he said this at New Sarawak Tribune office yesterday.

The troupe, consisting of primary and secondary school students, is also scheduled to perform at the residence of Deputy Prime Minister and Honorary President of Nanyang Wushu Federation of Sarawak Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, on the fourth day of Hari Raya.

“Therefore, we have been planning and training twice a week for the Hornbill Dance since October last year,” added Dr Song.

In the meantime, those interested in the Hornbill Dance performance can contact or WhatsApp the number 019-8866879 for further details as the troupe opens its Hari Raya bookings.
