Naroden ready to cooperate with MACC on report against him

KUCHING: E-Commerce Assistant Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais is ready to render his fullest cooperation to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) with regards to his involvement in the land controversy reported against him.

However, Naroden declined to elaborate further on the matter, as it was still pending before court, otherwise it would be subjudice.

“As the matter had been reported to MACC, it’s best to leave the matter to them.

“I will render my fullest cooperation to the MACC with regards to the subject matter of the court case. I cannot comment as it’s still pending before court, otherwise it would be subjudice,” he said in a statement issued on Thursday.

State MACC director Razim Mohd Noor confirmed that the commission received report against Naroden who is also Entrepreneur and SME Development Assistant Minister on corruption and abuse of power.

He added that MACC was investigating the case and if necessary, Naroden would be called to give his statement.

Based on the chronology of the case, a former journalist Joseph Tawie came forward to the MACC headquarters, Jalan Tun Jugah here to report on Naroden who is also Gedong assemblyman who allegedly owns lots of land around Simunjan.

In the report, Joseph also revealed that he was also assisted by lawyer Dominique Ng, who was also former Padungan assemblyman, to jointly make the report on February 8.

He said the report was made by Ng before, regarding the land issue. However, it is not stated in detail where the land area meant by Ng.
