DALAT: The Sarawak government is dedicated to ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the state’s development journey.

Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah highlighted the importance of road infrastructure in achieving this goal.

“There are roads that will connect Dalat to Sibu including Dalat Kut Road, Kut Muara, Kampung Kekan Seberang, and Kampung Medong Seberang.

“With the existence of these roads, the journey from Dalat to Sibu is expected to take only about one hour.

“At the same time, these roads help in the advancement and wellbeing of the local residents and they will not miss out on enjoying the development here,” she said at the Medong Kaul Festival at Penghulu Sakul Tira Hall in Kampung Medong Hulu here on Monday.

Fatimah also disclosed a substantial allocation for the Proposed Existing Dalat- Kut Road, which will connect Kampung Kekan Seberang to Kampung Medong Seberang, with a budget of RM90.5 million.
