KUCHING: A fire gutted a double-storey house at Jalan Kidurong, Sg Plan, Bintulu, Wednesday afternoon.
According to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), upon being notified on the incident at 5.48pm, 11 personnel in a fire engine, water tanker and EMRS vehicle from Bintulu fire station led by its chief, Di-Hatta Gobel rushed to the scene, which was located 15km from the fire station.
Five personnel from Samalaju fire station were also dispatched to the scene to assist Di-Hatta and his men.
The department said 95 per cent of the house, measuring 30×50 feet, was destroyed in the blaze.
It was understood that several Indonesians were staying at the house prior to the incident and no casualties and injuries were reported.
The operation ended at 7.30pm. Firefighters were still investigating the cause of the fire and estimated loss.
