Information on ‘slashing incident’ highly required; public urged to help

KUCHING: Kuching Police chief ACP Ng Ah Lek urged members of the public to come forward with information on a man who was badly slashed at the Kuching Municipal Council flats on Monday morning.

Ng said the informer will be kept confidential. 

On Monday at abotu 3.30 am, a man was badly slashed by a group of people who left him to die on the ground of the KMC flats.

The hands of victim from Riverview, Bintawa were tied and he was slashed in several places all over his body. Some of the wounds were so deep that his bones were exposed.

The victim, a Muslim convert is still in serious condition in the Sarawak General Hospital.

Residents staying at the area who heard noises woke up to find the man lying on the ground with blood all over. They also saw a car and a motorcycle speeding from the scene.

The victim had previous cases of dealing with drugs.

Police are still investigating and wanting a lead.
