KUCHING: The state government has drawn up various programmes and activities to celebrate Sarawak Independence Day on July 22, 2018. Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring, Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali said the programmes and activities aimed to bring Sarawakians together to celebrate the auspicious day.
“This futsal competition is one of the many programmes that have been drawn up by the state government in conjunction with Sarawak Independence Day,” explained Hasidah after attending the prize presentation ceremony of the Sarawak Unity Futsal Tournament 2018 held at Padang Merdeka here yesterday.
Among the other programmes are a parade, Unity Run and Ride (bicycle), State’s Independence Day Exhibition (to be held in Plaza Merdeka) and thanksgiving ceremonies to be held in all places of worship throughout the state.
