KUCHING: Deals, and more deals – that’s what lucky shoppers can expect until March 3 at Mydin’s Petrajaya and Semariang outlets here.

The Petrajaya outlet in Jalan Demak was filled to the brim with mall-goers, and outside, vehicles were lining up for parking spaces while many others just parked along the kerb yesterday.

Some 2,000 people showed up at the front entrance as early as 7am, however, only 900 lucky ones would get coupons.

One of the vendors inside told New Sarawak Tribune that he saw shoppers pushing and shoving to be the lucky few to get the limited coupons, particularly for the 10kg Bao Bao rice, sold at only RM10.

“Most are the elderly and housewives, who brought along their small children.

“Some of them told me they were frustrated because of the limited coupons that were given out,” he said.

Meanwhile, a shopper, Norsiah, 31, said she was not there to get the coupons although she knew about the cheap sale.

“As expected, many are willing to jostle among themselves to get the coupons. I came here just to buy a few items that I need,” she said.
