BAU : A woman, Allo anak Lieou from Kampung Peninjau Baru, here died on the way to Bau hospital after the car she was in crashed and turned turtle in a ditch at about 5 am on Sunday after a heavy rainfall.
Allo, 48, was seated at the back of the car while a 49-year-old male passenger sat in front with the driver.
The car went out of control at Kampung Stass and landed on its back in the ditch.
The driver suffered a broken neck while the front seat passenger suffered serious bodily injuries. Both were warded in Bau hospital.
The driver and the two passngers were stuck in the car and the Fire and Rescue Services Department had to prise open the car to get them out.
The car was a total wreck. Police are investigating the case.
