KOTA SAMARAHAN: 800 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed by Department of Volunteer Malaysia (Rela) Samarahan District recently.
Rela Officer Samarahan, Louis Libau Lawrence said the preparation and distribution of bubur lambuk was the annual activity of Rela during Ramadan.
“This porridge will be distributed to the local community irrespective of race and religion,” he said.
According to him, the activity was aimed at celebrating Ramadan in addition to strengthening Rela Samarahan’s relationship with the local community.
In addition, he said the programme is expected to apply the spirit of 1Malaysia because it involves Rela members from various communities in Samarahan district.
Forty Rela Samarahan officers and members took part in cooking and distributing of the porridge at the compound of Darul Taqwa Mosque, Kampung Muara Tuang.
The porridge was handed over by Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament Rubiah Wang.
Also present were representatives of Samarahan District Office, Mohamad Hadi Datuk Haji Bolhen, head of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Taman Samarindah who is also a aommittee member of t PBB Stakan, Jamain Mahmud, community leaders, members of Masjid Darul Taqwa Mosque, Kampung Muara Tuang and several government department representatives.
