The swimming pool and Sarikei Civic Centre need continuous repairing and maintenance and as such the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Solidarity will continue to do repair works and maintenance on the facilities based on approved allocations, its Assistant Minister, Snowdan Lawan said, yesterday.
Replying to questions raised by Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii (BN-Repok), Snowdan said the total allocation for repairing and maintenance of the Sarikei Civic Centre and the swimming pool for three years were RM106,361.00 was allocated for 2015, for 2016 (RM39,293.00) and for this year RM174,226.00 has been allocated.
Snowdan said the swimming pool in Sarikei was built in 1991 while the Civic Centre built in 1988 is managed by Sarikei Civic Centre.
