KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday spent some time looking at the latest development of the Golden Jubilee Bridge or Jambatan Jubli Emas construction near the compound of Astana Negeri prior to his daily duty of receiving courtesy calls.
The construction of the unique bridge with an ‘S’ shape is to enable an access on foot between Pengkalan Batu and Pengkalan Sapi on the opposite banks of the Sarawak River. Upon completion the bridge will be a iconic landmark in Kuching City.
