No new cases reported

KUCHING: The streak of zero Covid-19 cases continues as no positive case was reported in the state on Tuesday (Sept 15), with the cumulative total remaining at 700 since the last imported case was detected last Wednesday (Sept 9).

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), three individuals are still receiving treatment at hospital isolation wards as the Alam Cluster in Bintulu remains active with eight cases.

It said all three cases were being treated at Sibu Hospital, Bintulu Hospital  and Miri Hospital respectively.

“There are also no new cases that have recovered and been discharged from hospitals throughout Sarawak.

“The total number of Covid-19 positive cases that have recovered and discharged to date remains at 678 or 96.86 percent.

“The death toll remains at 19 people or 2.71 percent,” said the SDMC in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 15).

The committee added that a total of three new persons under investigation (PUIs) were reported with none awaiting laboratory test result.

The SDMC added that 30 new persons under surveillance (PUSs) had checked into hotels to undergo quarantine.

This brings the current total number of PUSs at 11 hotels statewide to 724 persons, while 23,889 PUSs had completed their quarantine period.
