No new positive case reported

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded no new positive Covid-19 case today, so the total remains at 759.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) stated there were still two active clusters, namely, Bah Arnab Cluster in Kuching and Putra Cluster in Bintulu.

As at noon today, the Bah Arnab Cluster remained with four reported positive cases. In this cluster, 40 individuals (including four positive cases) have been screened and 36 of them tested negative.

“The Putra Cluster remained with six reported positive cases. From this cluster, 160 individuals tested negative while 24 are still awaiting laboratory results.

“Apart from that, a total of 75 individuals have undergone second screening tests, of which 35 have tested negative and the remaining are awaiting laboratory results,” the committee said.

SDMC also announced that there were two new recovery and discharged cases, one each at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Sibu Hospital. This brought the total figure of recovery and discharged cases to 696 or 91.70 percent.

Currently, there are 44 cases receiving treatment at hospitals — 27 in SGH, eight in Miri Hospital, seven in Bintulu Hospital, and two in Sibu Hospital

“There are no cases receiving treatment in any intensive care unit (ICU). The death toll in the state remains at 19 or 2.53 percent to date.

“Meanwhile, six new persons-under-investigation (PUI) cases were reported and one is still awaiting laboratory test results,” the committee informed.
