Officer’s widow receives over RM19k in donations

KOTA SAMARAHAN: The widow of the late DSP Michael Padel today received donations totalling RM19,430 from the police force.

The donation was handed over to Jabah Mingku by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail during a presentation ceremony held at at Kota Samarahan district police headquarters.

“I presented the donation to the widow of DSP Michael on behalf of the national police chief,” said Aidi, pointing out that the donation was from Ops Daulat and Tabung Amanah Perwira dan Pertahanan Negara (TAPPN).

DSP Michael was among six policemen who were killed in an ambush by Sulu terrorists in Kampung Seri Jaya Simunul, Semporna in Sabah on Mar 2, 2013.

Aidi said donations collected through Ops Daulat and TAPPN would be distributed to the spouses of officers who were killed in Ops Daulat in 2013.

“One of the recipients of the donation is Jabah Mingku, the widow of DSP Michael,” he said.
