LAHAD DATU: A man, reportedly jealous of the husband of his ex-wife, attacked the 30-year-old with a machete while he was having a meal with friends in Ladang Kelapa Sawit Felda Sahabat 56.
The victim and farm worker received several stitches for injuries to his hand and back of the head.
Lahad Datu district police chief, ACP Nasri Mansor, said a fight broke out when the 25-year-old suspect approached the victim around 9.30am.
“The friends of the victim broke up the fight and grabbed the suspect before policemen from the Desa Kencana police station were called in and a machete confiscated.
“The suspect, a father of three, got divorced in July last year after five years of marriage,” Nasri said. – Bernama
