KUCHING: The state Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is dedicated to ensuring public funds are spent wisely and meet the goals set for approved projects by the state government.

During the recent meeting, held from March 19 to 20, chairman Razaili Gapor stated that based on the Audit findings, there were several weaknesses in the management and implementation of various projects.

“Therefore, some agencies need to review whether from an administrative, financial, or operational procedures standpoint,” he said in a statement.

He added that PAC also decided to conduct on-site visits to physically inspect certain projects to further understand the issues and weaknesses related to the projects, as well as to observe the steps taken to address these issues.

This meeting focused on the State of Sarawak National Audit Report for the year 2021 (Series 2), which was presented at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) meeting in November 2023.

Members of the PAC present at the meeting included See Chee How, Wilson Nyabong Ijang, Miro Simuh, Mohd Chee Kadir, Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, Rolland Duat Jubin, and ex-officio members.
