MIRI: A passenger in a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle was killed after it was involved in a head-on-collision with another 4WD at Jalan Beluru Bakong on yesterday (Nov 21).
The 47-year-old man died due to injuries sustained in the collision.
According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, they received a report on the incident at 4.30pm on Tuesday (Nov 22).
He said the accident involved a Nissan Navara and a Toyota Hilux.
“Prior to the collision, the Nissan Navara was heading towards Miri from Long Lama, and upon reaching the area, it suddenly went out of control and veered into the opposite lane, ramming the Toyota Hilux,” he said in a statement.
Both vehicles’ drivers, aged 41 and 65 respectively, sustained bodily injuries.
The accident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
