BINTULU : The establishment of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth wing 1828 is one of the forward movements of the party to produce a generation of leaders of calibre.
PBB Tanjong Batu branch deputy chief, Sophie Sharie said, its establishment will be a new platform to train youth between the ages of 18 and 28 on the ins and outs of politics.
“Tonight we are very proud of PBB Tanjong Batu because we successfully established a Protem 1828 which I don’t think other places have done likewise,” Sophie said at the PBB Tanjong Batu dinner and the inauguration of the Tanjong Batu Protem Youth here, last night.
Syazrul Sya’arani Sophie from Ranting Kampung Jabai has been elected as head of the Protem Youth Wing of the branch with Muhamad Shahrul Akmal Ismail from Ranting Kampung Assyakirin Phase 1, as vice head.
In the meantime, Sophie said the main objective of organising the dinner was in appreciation of the hard work of PBB Tanjong Batu members, especially in ensuring the victory of GPS in the Jepak By-Election on Nov 4.
Also present were Jepak assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang, PBB Tanjong Batu branch head, Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan, Sarawak State PBB Youth Exco and Tanjong Batu PBB Youth head, Lykarto Sikong and Sarawak State PBB Women’s Exco Jepak UN Women leader, Noriha Ali.
