PELAGUS assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang has stressed Sarawak’s unwavering commitment to transforming into a sustainable green economy.

Recognising the significance of environmental sustainability in economic recovery, he pointed out the need to incorporate green practices into economic plans, simultaneously preserving the environment and creating investment opportunities for the growth of the green economy.

“Under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawak has received commendation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for its exceptional performance.”

Praising Sarawak’s “extraordinary” achievements, the Prime Minister acknowledged the state’s pioneering role in technological and digital exploration, surpassing even the federal government, said Nyabong.

“Sarawak’s vision for a sustainable green economy aligns with its pursuit of political stability and economic development.”

Nyabong expressed gratitude to Abang Johari for his forward-thinking leadership, acknowledging his ability to guide the state through diverse challenges.

Recognising the competition from neighbouring countries, he emphasised the strategic positioning of Sarawak to attract foreign direct investments (FDIs) and investors.

Additionally, he stressed the urgency of bridging the digital divide by providing essential infrastructure such as internet connectivity and multimedia services, ensuring that the youths have access to technological opportunities.

He called upon both the federal government and the Sarawak government to promptly allocate resources for the expedited provision of these services.

“Sarawak’s commitment to a sustainable green economy not only safeguards the environment but also positions the state as an appealing destination for investment and economic growth.

“With its strong leadership and forward-thinking approach, Sarawak sets an exemplary model for other Malaysian states in embracing innovative initiatives for a brighter and greener future.”
