Perak continue losing streak with 0-1 defeat to Kl City

KUALA LUMPUR: Misfortune continues to plague Perak FC as they slumped to a 0-1 defeat against Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) in a Super League game at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium last night.

Both teams started with even exchanges but they failed to break the deadlock in the early minutes of the match.

The City Boys squad then led the Bos Gaurus in first-half injury time through Sebastian Avanzini who headed the ball into the opponent’s goal after receiving a pass from naturalised player Paulo Josue who was awarded a free kick by the referee.

In the second half of the match, both teams tried to score in an effort to collect three valuable points but it ended in a stalemate and the score remained until the final whistle.

The victory won by Bojan Hodak’s men gave them the advantage to climb two ranks to the eighth position in the league after receiving three points.

Meanwhile, the match that took place at Darul Makmur Stadium, Kuantan, Pahang saw Sri Pahang FC picked up a narrow 1-0 victory over Kelantan United FC.

The first half saw both teams on the attack but failed to take the lead.

In the second half, the home team redoubled their efforts to attack but success only came during injury time through Stefano Brundo who received a pass from teammate Nor Azam Azih.

The 1-0 score in favour of the Elephants remained until the final whistle was blown, placing the team in third place in the league.

In Seremban, Sabah had to share points with Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) after a 1-1 draw at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi.

Both teams were seen on the offensive with counter-attacks but it was the home team who first opened the score through a free kick taken by Tommy Mawar Mada in the 20th minute.

In the second half, Sabah FC found the equaliser via Park Tae-su’s strong header in the 75th minute. – BERNAMA
