PETRONAS asked to provide more CSR assistance in Lawas

LAWAS: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan hopes that Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) will provide more Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the community in Lawas District.

According to the statement by UKAS, Awang Tengah pointed out that PETRONAS had provided a lot of CSR assistance in education, skills, small and medium businesses and community welfare to Sarawak.

“So, if possible, please help the community here for their well-being,” he said.

He said this during the Sentuhan Kasih Petronas Raya Gawai 2022 programme at Hotel Seri Malaysia, Lawas on Saturday (May 28).

Awang Tengah, who also the Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development , disclosed that Sarawak Petroleum Company (PETROS) and PETRONAS had reached an agreement to be jointly involved in oil and gas development in the state.

“With this, the state government has signed a Commercial Settlement Agreement with PETROS, PETRONAS as well as the federal government,” he added.
