KUCHING: Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) today handed over a contribution of RM140,280 to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) state disaster fund.

Chairman of its Board of Directors, Tan Sri Hamid Bugo presented a cheque for the amount to SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.

In a statement, Petros said the contribution would be for the procurement of critical support equipment for the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of hospitals in the state.

It said the donations came from voluntary contributions of individual employees, Petros executive management and Board of Directors and from the group corporate social responsibility fund.

“At Petros, our number one priority is Safety and Health, a commitment we put into action every day.

“Today, we do so in solidarity with our healthcare frontliners and services in the fight against Covid-19.

“We hope our focused contribution will assist our healthcare system where it is most needed.”
