Police nab Indonesian women in Ops Dadu

The two Indonesian women arrested during an 'Ops Dadu' raid at a 24-hour convenience store at Jalan Ong Guan Cheng.

BAU: Police arrested two Indonesian women for operating as top-up agents in an illegal online gambling at a convenience store at Jalan Ong Guan Cheng here.

Bau police chief, DSP Poge Nyaon said the duo,  aged 21 and 39 years from Pontianak and Singkawang respectively, were arrested during an operation codenamed ‘Ops Dadu’ conducted at the premises.

The police also seized an unspecified amount of cash, a smartphone, one sim card and two modems believed to be used in the illegal online gambling activities.

Poge said the case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953 and Section 15(1) (c) of Immigration Act 1959/63.
