Police on hunt for man who injures sister

PADAWAN: Police here are currently looking for a man who went amok and allegedly hit his sister in their home at Kampung Segedup, Jalan Batu Kawa on Saturday (Feb 11).

Padawan police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad in a statement, said they received a police report from the 34-year-old victim just a few hours after the incident.

According to the police report, the 32-year-old suspect hit his sister who is a firefighter around 3.35 pm. It caused her to sustained injuries to her head and bruises on her shoulder, arm and left hand.

He stated that a police team had been deployed to track down and arrest the suspect.

“Prior to the attack, the victim and her younger sister were carrying out chores in the kitchen while, the suspect was eating on the kitchen floor.

“All of a sudden, the suspect made noises, cursed and accused the victim of doing bad things behind her husband’s back.

“The victim later reprimanded the suspect and the suspect proceeded to hit his sister repeatedly on the head, shoulder, arm and left hand,” he said.

Abang Zainal added that the suspect often run amok without reason at his siblings and parents but no police report was ever lodged.

The case is being investigated under Section 323/18A of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
