KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will lead the Sarawak Merdeka Ride Convoy from Serian to Samarahan on July 15.
According to Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, a ceremony will be held at Samarahan town around 2pm to welcome the Premier’s convoy.
“Therefore, we invite the public, especially the residents of Samarahan Division, to come and join in the event held in conjunction with the 60th Sarawak Independence anniversary celebration,” he said.
He added that there will be a flag-off of the district-level convoy by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
Various exciting programmes, including the Sarawak Merdeka 60 Years Digital Exhibition, Samarahan Kitchen, stalls selling various goods and karaoke competition will be held in all the districts of Samarahan Division.
“We will explore all districts in Samarahan Division, including Asajaya, Simunjan, Sebuyau, Gedong and Sadong Jaya.
“The objective of this convoy is to further enhance the spirit of patriotism in addition to meet the local community,” said Irwan.
