Premier visits project sites in Limbang

LIMBANG: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg visited three state development project sites here on Wednesday (Mar 6).

The first site involved construction projects for the Limbang River Bridge, Bunut River Bridge No 2, and Limbang Division Link Road, all of which recorded a completion rate of 70.57 per cent as of February 2024.

According to a briefing provided by the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD), the three projects costed RM187.62 million and are expected to be completed by November 24, 2025.

After that, Abang Johari visited the project site for the construction of the
Limbang Integrated Administration Complex (IAC), which is currently at 34 percent completion.

This project, costing RM157.28 million, is expected to be completed by February 11, 2025.

The Premier then visited the site of the Limbang River Embankment Phase Two-Package Two and Phase Three upgrading project.

Based on the briefing provided by the Limbang District Council (MDL), as of March 5, the Phase Two-Package Two of the project, covering an area of 0.28 kilometre involving the construction of planter boxes, food truck parking areas, gazebos, esplanade walkways, and food stalls, has achieved 88.05 percent completion.

Meanwhile, Phase Three of the project involving the construction of the Bangunan Tamu Limbang, lock-up shops, jetty repairs, stalls, and pedestrian bridges has reached a completion rate of 71.77 percent.

Both projects are expected to be completed by September 19, this year.

Also present were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Transport Minister, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Lawas MP Henry Sum Agong and chief political secretary to the Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
