PTAs receive MRP grant totalling RM15,000

SRI AMAN: The Sarawak government has allocated RM15,000 to the local Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in the constituency through the Minor Rural Project (MRP).

Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis presented a RM5,000 cheque to the PTA of SJKC Chung Hua Undop during the recent Community Development Programme organised by the Sri Aman District Council (MDSA) in collaboration with the Chinese Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Batu Lintang Market. 

In the same allocation, RM10,000 was disbursed to the PTA of SK Batu Lintang, Undop.

Meanwhile, the programme also featured a blood donation drive and community cleanup, along with a lantern design competition where students from SJKC Chung Hua Undop used recycled materials to craft lanterns.

Addressing the attendees, Harden expressed his gratitude to MDSA and the Chinese community for successfully organising the programme. 

He also extended his thanks to the Sri Aman Health Office for their support in conducting the blood donation drive at the Batu Lintang Market Temple.

Prior to this, Alexander Goh Boon Ping, representing the management chairman, conveyed appreciation for the presence of all attendees, underscoring that their participation lent valuable support to initiatives promoting environmental cleanliness and inter-community relations.

About 100 individuals attended the programme, including 29 council members led by acting secretary of MDSA, Regina Giles Senin; and a dedicated team of nine Blood Bank officers from the Sri Aman Health Office, led by Dr Leyana Syamimi Razali.
