Pusaka Capital Group adds another tanker to fleet

KUCHING: Pusaka Capital Group received its 16th tanker truck during a ceremony at the Kuching Port Authority, Pending Terminal here.

The tanker was acquired from Sino Truck Commercial Vehicles (M) Sdn Bhd.

On hand to receive the keys was Assistant International Trade and Industry, Industry Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.

Naroden, who is also Pusaka chairman, was presented with the keys by China Auto Manufacturers (Kuching) Sdn Bhd managing director Goh Kee Seng, on behalf of Sino Truck.

Naroden said Pusaka had been investing in tanker trucks to support its operations in distributing bitumen products throughout Sarawak since 2017.

It further increased  its fleet after it was appointed as the distributor of Petronas Bitumen, he added.

Pusaka is currently operating from three terminals – IOT Kuching, PST Bintulu, and its own bitumen depot in Tanjung Manis, which holds the biggest bitumen storage in Sarawak.

Naroden said the latest addition would enable Pusaka to ensure not only sufficient bitumen supply but also timely delivery of its products.

Pusaka is also involved in supplying diesel and lubricants besides bitumen.

“At the recent PDB Commercial Channel Partner Summit 2021 on Feb 25, Pusaka Pratama Sdn Bhd was champion in the Bitumen category and 1st runner-up in the overall national level category.”

He said although last year was challenging due to the pandemic and economic uncertainty, it was a great achievement for the group. 

Pusaka Capital Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation, was established in 2014.

As an investment arm of STIDC, the group involves in diverse business activities such as realty and construction, palm oil-related business, timber-related business, logistics and services, as well as food and agriculture-related business.

Also present were Kuching Port Authority chairman Datuk Awang Bemee Pengiran Ali Basah, who is also a director of Pusaka Capital Sdn Bhd; other directors, management and staff of Pusaka Capital Group and representatives of Sino Truck Malaysia.
