KUCHING: The district police headquarters (IPD) here has brought a fresh ray of sunshine to nine police families consisting of orphans and special children with welfare donations on Monday (Apr 25).

The recipients comprised three families of orphans and six families who are recipients of special child assistance from Kuching IPD.

In a statement yesterday, Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the donations were presented at the respective homes of the families’ homes as well as at the police station.

Accompanying him during the welfare visits, was with his wife, Emmy Suin who is the Sarawak Police Family Association (PERKEP) chairperson and Kuching IPD Welfare Branch.

The Welfare branch handed over welfare donations and assistance to the recipients while Ahsmon and his wife handed over personal donations to them.

He pointed out that the welfare donations were from the Bukit Aman Police Welfare Fund.

Ahsmon said the purpose of the visit to respective homes was to reach out to them. He used the opportunity to give words of encouragement and stressed the welfare aspects of Kuching IPD staff were safeguarded.
