
MIRI: Miri Division Disaster Management Committee, minister in-charge, Datuk Lee Kim Shin today asserted that all relevant agencies here have been ready since October last year for any possibility of floods.
“Our logistics has been placed at the low-lying areas and high risk (for flood) areas,” said Lee when contacted by the New Sarawak Tribune today.
He also revealed that all relevant the authorities have been alerted and are on standby for any flood possibility.
“We are working closely with the relevant agencies to monitor the situation and the emergency plan already activated to ensure a quick, effective and coordinated response to any flash flood incident,” he explained.
Following heavy storm and downpour for the past few days, Lee also urged the community to stay vigilant during the period.
