KUCHING: Registered private childcare centres and kindergartens were given the green light to operate. This was enforced in order to meet the needs of working parents and guardians, said Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
She said sending children to registered kindergartens would ensure their safety.
“We don’t want parents to send their children to unlicensed kindergartens
because most of the buildings are not certified and do not comply with safety regulations.
“Many of these unlicensed centres do not limit the number of children allowed to attend,” she said when met by the media after inspecting the implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the reopening of Tadika Kurnia in Jalan Noakes, Sungai Apong here.
She also reiterated that childcare centres located in the area enforced under the conditional movement control order (CMCO) and recovery movement control order (RMCO) are allowed to resume operation.
“The childcare centres at places that implements the movement control order (MCO) are not allowed to operate,” she added.
