OYA: Repair works on the Kampung Senau Fishermen Jetty, or better known by locals as “Wharf Haji Jahari”, is complete. Oya fishing community leader (Ketua Komuniti Nelayan Oya) Arini Suhaili said funds for the repair work were requested from Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, who is also assemblywoman for Dalat.
Arini, who speaks on behalf of the fishing community, thanked the relevant government agencies and departments for helping the community to obtain facilities as well as to upgrade or repair existing ones. He also expressed his gratitude to Fatimah who has always been attentive to the needs of the people through the funds she allocated.
“We are also grateful to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Senau Oya led by its chief Mohd Affendi as the implementing agency. “We hope this will benefit the people,” he said.
