KUCHING: The residents of Kampung Sinar Budi, including a person with disabilities (PWD), have been evacuated to temporary relief centres (PPS’) due to rising floodwaters in the area.
According to the Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM), their team arrived at the scene at 7.30am this morning, encountering rising waters and impassable roads.
The evacuees were transferred to a PPS in Sinar Budi Baru hall and Sinar Budi Baru futsal court
As of 9 am, APM has not yet reported the exact number of evacuees. However, efforts are ongoing to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected.
Although the heavy downpour has ceased for now, APM has cautioned that cloudy weather may bring further rainfall later in the day.
