DARO: The Sarawak government has given assurance that Sarawak will not go bankrupt as claimed by certain quarters previously.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state’s revenue has seen an increase within the past five years.

“Next month, I will introduce the Sarawak Budget during the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, and you will see the figure of how much Sarawak is earning.

“I cannot reveal it to you today, but you will see it next month,” he said.

He was speaking during the leaders meet the people session at the Daro New Township Hall today.

Abang Johari, who is also the Minister of Finance and New Economy further said the state was also able to allocate a sum of RM6.8 billion to carry out various assistance under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid Packages (BKSS) to help the people in facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There are certain quarters who say that Sarawak will go bankrupt. But Insya-Allah, Sarawak will never go bankrupt.
