RM150k for recreational parks upgrade

KUCHING: A total of RM140,000 in Rural Transformation programme (RTP) funds has been secured to improve three recreational parks in the Kota Sentosa constituency.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin said of the amount, RM50,000 has been allocated to improve the Green Heights Recreation Park, another RM50,000 for Borneo Garden Park, and RM40,000 for Lorong Stampin Tengah 12 Recreation Park.

He said this in a statement in response to specific requests from residents in these areas for park enhancements.

Yap said the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has been entrusted as the implementing agency for the upgrading works.

“I have also urged MBKS to expedite the design process, using high-quality materials to ensure that the upgrades are completed on schedule,” he said.

He expressed his unwavering dedication to enhancing the standard of living and overall quality of life for the communities residing in Kota Sentosa.

He pledged to improve other recreational parks in the constituency.

“Apart from providing a conducive venue for residents to congregate, such parks will also offer active recreation opportunities for all age groups, create valuable green spaces and contribute to the wellness of the local community.

“Additionally, these upgrades will have a positive impact on property value,” he added.
