KUCHING: The Persatuan Anak Istimewa Sarawak (Perais) recently received a grant worth RM20,000 which will be used for the development programme of people with special needs (OKU).

The grant was given by Plantation Industries and Commodities Deputy Minister Willie Mongin, who was represented by Mambong special officer Arundi Ganjoh, during a simple handover ceremony on Monday (Feb 8) at the community service centre in P198 Puncak Borneo, Jalan Kampung Bratan.

“We would like to thank Willie Mongin for the grant because it will facilitate Perais in organising development programmes for the OKU.

“We are very grateful for his continuous support towards the development of the OKU,” said Perais president Rapelson Richard Hamit.

Rapelson also congratulated Willie as well as Federal Energy and Natural Resources Deputy Minister Datuk Ali Biju on their recent ‘Datuk’ award.
