Ruslan Abdul Ghani appointed Bintulu Port’s new CEO

KUCHING: Ruslan Abdul Ghani has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (Bintulu Port) with effect from March 1.

Ruslan holds the position, replacing the former Bintulu Port CEO Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah.

Bintulu Port, in a statement today (March 5), said Ruslan has over 32 years of experience in the oil and gas (O&G) industry.

He has previously spent most of his career in the upstream business of the national O&G company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and was assigned to four different countries, namely Sudan, Dubai, Iraq, and Turkmenistan.

“Ruslan started his career in 1990 at Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (Sarawak operations) based in Miri.

“After holding various positions within the group, his last position was as the senior general manager of Petronas Carigali (Sarawak operations) prior to his retirement in June 2022,” said the statement.

Bintulu Port also extends its gratitude and appreciation to all shareholders and stakeholders for their cooperation and support that has been rendered to Medan during his tenure with Bintulu Port.

They hope that continuous cooperation and support will also be extended to Ruslan as the new CEO of Bintulu Port.
